hello all, another nortel nightmare. cust has 824 with a 7310 and 7324 with lines appearing. other sets are 7208s. not sure software level. but when a worker gets a line from the line pool it doesnt show up on the 2 main phones as in use and if they sieze it they barge in. the 2 phones with derect lines do show each other using a line and there is privacy between the two. all co lines are set to privacy. they have 7 lines so i dont want to put them direct on the 7208 and forfet a handsfree or icm feature. anyone have an idea on how i can solve this or is it just equiptment getting old and wearing out. thanks, dave.

Time to forfeit line appearance and start parking calls. The privacy thing - not sure, but its probably in set capabilities...

yes the 7208 sets have to park the calls becuase they get them oout of the pool. the touble is when they take one, the two sets with lines appearing on them dont recognise the lines in use with the arrow and if the user trys to use the line thinkink it is open they are connected with the other 2 parties. on this software it has permissions rather than capabilities, but nothing about privacy that i can see. i didnt evenknow there was a program to make a seized line not show on another set with access to that line. really got me stumped.

When the 2 phones(7324 & 7310) with line appearances make a call are they using line keys or entering a pool when they have indication and privacy ? -try to isolate the problem to all calls or just pool calls.

Give one of the 7208's a line appearance(same type as the 7310) and see if the fault still occurs when the xtn calls out using a line key or ONLY when the pool is accessed.

Then replace the 7208 with the 7310 and see if the fault still occurs.
If it does it would appear to be some glitch in programming or software,if the fault clears it would appear to be a fault (OR compatability problem) with the 7208's . :rolleyes:

i didnt actually try a line pool on the larger sets or a direct line on the 7208s, i took it for granted they would be ok if they had a direct line but i will make sure. these kind of problems sure make a long day. thanks for the advice. dave

made it back out there today and ended up putting the problem lines in line pool 2 and now they are working correctly. not sure why they didnt work in pool 1 but customer is happy and thats the main thing. thanks dave

cant see even if you had line appearance on 2 sets the system shouldn't let you barge in on the line from line pool sounds to me like hardware issues
