i installed a cics w/startalk flash and the flash did not come up. i am not sure the power supply for the flash is correct. usually the nortel stuff has a power supply that says nortel. the ps output is 2 x 11.5 vac. could this be my problem? someone told me my system version and vm version may not be compatible. the pc card in the cics is nt7b65acc 6.1. i can't tell what the flash version is because i can't get it to come up. i have the flash connected to 35, and 36.
also can you put a fax machine and credit card terminal on the system. if so how would you do this.. thanks

The fax/CC solution is an ATA. Flash is either dead or not compatible. I don't know about the power adapter. Did it come with the flash? If so, it should work. It really depends on where you got it from though. If it came from a secondary market supplier, they could have sent you anything. Go back to the source, they should know. smile

When using ATA's they will be set up as analog extensions. If they are both going to experience heavy traffic I would recommend a separate ATA for each of the devices. If they CC is used twice a day you could pair them up on the same ATA.

The ATA's are equipped with modular connectors. After the analog comes out of the ATA it would hardwire to the 66 block, or you could go modular to modular if you prefer.

There are some things in programming you will need to set-up on the ATA's.

If they bought it off of the internet and hired you to install it, let them go back to their internet supplier and hash it out. It is not your responsibility, it's theirs. Unless you want to charge them for the time incurred on researching it and finding a replacement power supply. In that case I would spend the time to find out, order another one, and replace it for them. Just don't forget to send them a bill for the extra time and the correct power supply of course.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Flash came with a 24volt AC supply with the 5 pin DIN plug.

It has to be minimum version 2.0 Flash to work with CICS 6.1
The Flash version will be on the sticker on the back of the software card.

The CICS has one built-in ATA.

Port 117 is analogue, a digital set won't work on it. You do the programming from any two line display phone connected to the system.
