If you want cordless, the DuraFon 1X has a MOH input jack.

With the VM 4000, will I be able to place a call on hold (with music of course) and hand up the phone.....then pick up the phone and press a line button to resume the call?

I will say yes, you will be able to put the call on hold, hang the phone up, then press the line key to return to the call.

i believe some MOH systems just cut the speaker on your phone and play music.
Anyways, looks like the expensive one doesnt come with MOH but does come with voicemail and auto-attendant!
Damn, why cant they make this simple for me!

That would be background music, not MOH. Check Staples and look at their multiline phones. I don't know if they have what you're looking for but they do have multiline small business phones.
