An FYI on analog/digital polycoms...
Polycom has a KONNEX ADAPTER so that you can plug an analog polycom unit into a digital phone. The adapter sits between the phone and the speaker and allows you to run them together. Solves the problem and keeps me at one jack/extension to run both items at one time.

I am glad I found this website. We are running a Polycomm Soundstation EX with two remote speakers, hooked to our 3Comm digital phone. The conference room is about 25x 35, and we have 6-8 people calling into the conference call. We are getting complaints that the remote folks cannot hear, and we hear a constant 'tinny' sound coming from the unit.
Any ideas on how to fix both issues?

, Woody. It probably isn't the Polycom. You said you are using a 3Com digital telephone. Odds are you have a network issue because of the IP connections, not the Polycom unit. But that is just my opinion.

I haven't yet but I might be. I am buying two regular digital units and if a VP still wants one to connect to his 8410D then I'll try this method and let you know. The adaptor is quite pricy but if it stops people from complaining about the speakers in the 8410D and they'll budget them from their accounts - I'll get them what they want. I'll let you know if I try one.

Look into Clearone also... We've been using them lately and they have a nice line of equipment. The neat thing (depending on your application) is that they connect into a DATA jack (so they can be moved easily by the CG) and they have an adapter that resides in the phone room that plus into an analog port and the required data port. We sell alot of the Clearone MAx, and they have add-on modules for larger rooms.
I can point you toward good pricing if interested.

I would look into the polycom voice station 100. They are the little silver conf phones; work great for small conf rooms. Pricing is very reasonable.
