I have a customer who has an existing MICS 6.0 with a T1 providing voice service. They are moving a department off-site to another facility. There will be a point to point T1 connecting the two facilities. I would like to take a handful of the DID's of people that are moving to the new building with them. What do I have to do in programming of the existing system to route those DID's 6031-6033 & 6037-6047 to ring to the new system? Any help would be appreciated.

First you have to set up two system together by Networking them over P2P T1, then you have to build a rout that would grab a Proper Pool and send 60XX numbers over that Pool. On another system you have to assign Target lines with 60XX numbers to Prime extensions who ever they have to belong to. On the second system you have to do the same thing.

More details?
What is the other system? Do you want to network the 2 systems to call each other etc or just redirect DIDs?

Both systems will be Nortel Mics systems. I would like to be able to 4 digit dial between system as well as have DID's come through system A and ring phones in system B.

Then the only way is to network the 2 systems. You will need: -2 DTI cards -2 PRI key code enablers -2 MCDN Key codes (if sharing voice mail) -gateway over your T1 network between the 2 for your DTI cards. -Program one side starting at 2000 DN's and other side starting at 3000 (or 3 and 4 etc). -Program Target lines for each phone with a target recieved digit matching there own DN -Suggest to upgrade to 7.1 since 6.0 is buggy with T1/PRI.

The existing system has the extension numbers starting at 5001. I would like to have the extensions in site B begin with 5201. When I attempt to enter the destination code of 52XX it will not let me past the 52. I believe it is because 52XX extensions exist in site A even thought they are not used. Is ther a way to remove those extensions from Site A so I can enter them into the destination list? Thanks

Figured out that issue. The question I have now is: When networked with T-1's do I have to program each extension as a Target Line? So if I dial ext 5201 from ext, 5003 in the other system do I need a Target line assigned to ring 5201 or does the call automatically get routed to the extension that I dial?

You will need target Lines for each 52 number in system B. Are you using centralized voicemail? Or does site B have it's own.
Good Luck
