the local supply house has a deal if you buy 10 packages of the tapes you get a free Rhino 3000
cartridges are 16-17 dollars each so for 170 or so I get the label maker and 10 cartridges
I'm thinking of doing it and wondered what the experiances where on this printer

I have one..it works ok, get the power supply because it uses a lot of batteries. Some of the labels can be a bit difficult at times to separate from their backing, but over all I am happy with it. I should mention I have never used it on a very large job. I mainly use it for cctv jobs with under 20 drops. I have used it for voice and data as well again on smaller jobs, but it has worked well.
I Swear I did not touch anything

so the labels stick to cable ok ?
I don't do huge jobs , I have a 35 dual drop job coming up and I thought I would use it for cable marking
I presently have a small (cheap ) brother thats fine foe labeling face plates and all .
good tip on the power cube, the brother , does well with batteries a set of AA lasts me over a year
I was looking at the Brady label pro , but this deal seems pretty good .
It expires at the end of feb so I need to ddecide pretty quick

I prefer the Brother hand label maker. Works for me just fine on tagging.

I also prefer the Brother brand of label makers. I havnt tried the Rhino yet. I did have the Brady ID Pal, very unhappy with it. Went through batteries very quickly and the label quality, I thought was bad. Also, it wasnt consistent with its printing. Some labels were dull, while others were darker but had lines through it. Maybe I had a bad unit because I did try different label cartridges.

RCA I have had the same problem with the brady. This is what one of the CLEC's here use and I was not pleased with it.

I have always used a P-Touch. I think mine is getting old because it has issues feeding labels.

I as well use a P-Touch. Works great. Like Jeff though, label feeding but only when batteries are weak or cold from being in the truck on these cold winter nights & days.
I still recommend it though. Different size tapes, and colors as well.
