Just a friendly reminder that the time is changing this weekend. This is the new and improved DST and is happening 3 weeks earlier than it use to.

Be prepared for those "how do I change my time" phone calls on Monday.

Yeah, I kind of like those calls though. It gives me an opportunity to visit with the customers even if it is a short telephone conversation.
We have a lot of time clocks in service and not many are programmed for the new dates so I think we are going to get a lot of calls this year. smile

Personally, I like the summer time schedule and I wish they would leave it like that all year but I do understand it's not good for school kids to be waiting for the bus in the dark every morning.

Just an FYI. All XP machines have to be running Service Pack 2 to take the patch.

If you manually set the time this Sunday on your key system or PBX you might want to turn off the daylight savings feature.
Some system have the dates hard coded, and your system will advance another hour in 3 weeks when you are no longer thinking about it.

Samsung is not a problem because you enter the dates you want.

Comdial common code products are hard coded and should have the feature turned off.

Latest Comdial feature sets 198 and 220 allow for flexible stop start times. However most systems have not been updated to latest code and Larry's right about shutting off the auto DST. Monday should be fun.

Norstar MICS & CICS are hard coded. All software prior to 7.1 auto-daylight time should be turned off and time manually changed.

For those using Caller ID turn on auto time & date. Clock will set to your telco's time on the first incoming call.

Older Norstars (Compact and Modular) have neither feature.
