customer has a TVS100 behind a KXT-123211D
it seems to shut it self off at ramdom times and requires a reboot .
they called today and said they couldn't reboot so I was going to go check it out before I got there she calls and thanks me for getting it going for them
so it just came up on its own after being off for a hour or so
this has been going on for a few months
I was thinking some sort of disc maintence function but I dont see anything in the manual
any thoughts ?

First thing I can think of is putting it on a UPS to make sure it's not some kind of weard power issue. Long shot at best.
I don't know of any disk maintence available but someone else could prove me wrong.
Do the job right the first time.

meant to mention it is on a good ups .
the only thing I can think of at this point is to intialize and rebuild which will be a real PITA since I have two companys on it .
some VMS do have a disc maintence function which is why I asked . I went through the manual tonight and couldn't find anything .

how do I get to the elog ?
as I recall there are some maintence functions when I get in terminal programing is that where it is ?

You could look under "Utlilties" at the main menu. Procom or Hyperterminal will get you there.

Disk maint is automatic. Sounds like like HD is ready to give it up>

when it shuts down, does the red power led flash
4, 5 or 6 times and stop for a few seconds and flash again?

well it shut down and wouldnt reeboot , customer found a new hardrive on ebay and ordered it .
hes going to call me when it comes in to set it up
