Customer purchased a KX-TVA594 LAN card for their KX-TVA50 voice mail system. They want to integrate it with their Outlook feature on their PC's. Is there documentation to support this somewhere? I've looked through the installation and feature guides and have only found how to install it into the slots, not how to program it to do what the customer is requesting.
Has anyone done this before?
Thanks. ES

Its in the manual. You activate it for the system and mailbox. You need company email server address or name and password if needed. 2.1.11 and 2.5.4 in the programming manual.

Escomm, I haven't done it but I heard it works great. The LAN settings are under utilities in the programming console 1.8.11 I believe you need the card connected to the LAN before you start programming. I'll check my manuals for any further Info. MrG

It does work well you can choise between sending a e-mail saying there is a message to sending a wav file with voice message attached. This is done under mailbox settings and a tab called e-mail option, in there enter username, and e-mail address for each user and select option for attach voice message if you want. Under system parameters there is e-mail integration option set ip address and e-mail account for voicemail. You will need to setup a user account for the voicemail on your mail server i.e [email protected]It should work with out any problems.

Just a warning, Make sure you put a 6-8 number password on mailbox 998/999 or disable it from telephone access. Barr ports on voice mail for making calls and tell every one to put on passwords on mailbox's as there is a risk of toll fraud.

Just installed the LAN card today, but had to pull off the job to put out another fire. Anyway, the customer is trying to program the voice mail to send an email to the respective users, and is at a stumbling block. According to him, he has configured it the way the book says, and the VM still won't send out emails when there is a voice mail. Can anyone help? Thanks.

You can set it up remotely. There is a monitor utility in the tool, you can see if it tries to send and if it is successful. IP address must be set properly. System E Mail turned on and Mailbox e mail set up for each box.

IIRC, the IP address for the outbound mail server is not a name, but a number. Ping your mail server to get the numeric address and use that.
As mentioned above, Utility Trace will tell you what the status of a message is and whether it works or fails.
