I have a 848 customer that has vonage on their line one and I have call waiting EFA enabled and it works and you can hear the FSK come through and it does not show the caller id of the caller that is waiting ( I know what you are going to say and yes I made a test call and while I was engaged in a conversation With buttset and had my PE 830 buttset plugged directly into the motorola vonage router and sure enough the caller id info came through with the call waiting info and yes regular idle caller I.D works fine on all lines on the system including verizon as well)has Anyone out there got call waiting caller ID actully to work and if so what were your settings?

Vonage is basically VOIP, right? And the Vonage line is the only one that is causing problems ? Packets getting hosed? All you have to lose is a few bits and getting them resent isn't going to help because the info won't be between the 1st and 2nd rings, and it probably wouldn't get resent anyway. And of course there could be level problems! Yes, it's digital information, but it's coming out of the Vonage equipment as audio. You know, BZZZZZ. John C. (Not Garand)

I've never got call waiting caller I.D. to work on Panasonics, I would love to know if there is a fix to that. We've been telling our customers to get their lines put in a hunt group so they can see the caller I.D.

I set fsk w/ visual cid on all of my installs, regardless if they have call waiting or rollover and I've never seen that work.

Sure your CWCID buttset works every time, it's more sensitive. The 848 works with the Vonage CWCID sometimes, right? Can you lay your hands on another Vonage unit temporarily, bet you'll find either it NEVER or ALWAYS, works. (The next picture you see will be me, with egg on my face, 'cause the replacement Vonage unit will be from the same production run and act exactly the same!) John C. (Not Garand)

This is going to sound rediculious. Does the system always display, with your buttset hooked up? If so, good luck, I had 1 like that with a plain old copper line and since it always displayed on LEC buttset, NTF. I finally left an old buttset, that had no transmit, in monitor across the line and it worked like a champ. I tried an RC network to imitate the buttset, but the B/S was free and the time was wasted. After 1/2 hour, the buttset was stashed behind the ksu and I was 'outadere'! It's probably STILL there. This was an Iwatsu ADIX in central KS 8 years ago, but the theory and problem are still the same! Sometimes, ya gotta do what ya gotta do! John C. (Not Garand)
