I will be working on an taw848 with a tvs 50 vm tomorrow and having never put one on the taw848 i was wondering if the setup is the same as with the ta624,824 and td 816/1232. i was reading over some of the previous posts and i saw where someone had said to make sure you have it connected to the right port. is there a certain port that it has to be connected to. also the customer would like to have a night button that sends the caller to an answering service. can this be done easily. if someone could give me a general idea about how to connect the system and an idea about how to set up the night button i think that i can handle it from there. thanks

CC, it is much like the TD816/1232 as it uses DPITS integration. That is, 2 voice mail ports for 1 TAW port. In the TAW go into 601, find the port you want to use and change it from telephone to voicemail 1. If it's an older version you may have to go into 660 and assign a floating number but if the TAW is version 1.1 or higher it should already be set at 500 Are you familiar with the TVS programming? You will have to connect to it with your laptop. Set the dip switches to 5 (1 # 3 to the right, the rest to the left) follow the prompts from there. use TD816/1232 as the PBX type. ------------------- MrG

Yes i am familiar with the TVS. I never would have thought that you have to set the PBX type as 816/1232. So then program 601 in the TAW would be like program 118 in the 816/1232. Okay I think that I can get it from there. Thanks that's just what I needed. Oh yeah, any idea about how to send it to an answering service with a one touch button. thanks again.

Sorry for taking so long to get back. I went out today and put the VM on the TAW848 and it came up fine. But I had strange problem when I put it into night mode. It would answer with a system prompt but if i tried to enter a digit to transfer to a station it would just repeat the prompt. In day mode it would follow the intercept timer, and in night mode it would answer immediately, but would not respond to the digits. however if I pressed O it would transfer to operator. The main thing that the customer wants to be able to do is press one button and have all calls go to a live answering service. I set forward all calls to co, and it will send all intercom calls to an external number but calls transferred from the VM would ring the station even though it was set forward all calls. Same thing would happen with calls that ring in to the station from outside. I guess what I really need is someone that really knows the TAW848 to contact me and for a reasonable rate talk me through it. If anyone thinks that they can do that please send me a PM. Thanks
