Hi all,

Well the power supply on the 18 year old panasonic kxt616 at home is dying frown

I've got a kxt123210 that I've put in. I've got everything programmed but I can't figure out how to program dial 9 access. The user manual says you can do it but I'm mystified as to how it's done.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

The dial 9 access is standard on the panasonic system, if you are getting just a dead sound when you dial 9 it is because there is un-used lines still set as connected, in program 40 (i think) set all co 01-12 that have no line on them to no connect.

Program 40 is set and the extra lines are disabled. When I dial 9 from a display phone I get a fast busy and the display says "CO not assigned". Dialing 81 works fine for accessing trunk group 1, 82 for group 2 etc. sO there's some program step to setup each line for dial 9 access. On the old 616 it's program 41 I think.

On the key phone do you have a line key or loop line set up, if you dont have a line key it will give you line not assigned.
this is done on the handset , program switch press key then 0 plus line number.

you could also check idle line access is enabled for each line, I am not sure on the kxt1232 what the code is

program 57, that was it!

I checked both the manuals I have. Neither one mentions program 57. Hmmn!

Anyway, Thanks all for the help. I'm not 100% sure "old reliable" is going dead, I was getting ring trips whenever the weather was bad. I think the new system is doing the same thing but I need a bad day to make sure.

The Telephone company tells me that my crackling and popping lines are fine even though it's been tested to their demark!

As a Newfie would say Telus is "Stunned as my Arse!"
