Hello,
I've just installed a TDA200 with digital station cards and 7630 sets. It was all going good, until I hooked up a ringdown to the Police.
If they call us, it's fine
If we call them, it rings out to the distant party and we can hear them answer. However we get no talk battery evidenced by the lack of sidetone and therefore cannot be heard.
If we make a call out then during the 1 way transmission, come off hook with a butt set directly across the trunk we get battery and can now be heard.
I've tried other ports on other cards, and other ringdowns, but they have the same problem.

Is it set it as an off hook to ring to police or do you dial digits?

Just put a loop on one end the circuit, and it rings on the other. All equipment is in the CO. You'd think it was a VERY simple circuit to deal with.
If you ever noticed there is no talk battery on TDA sets until after the call connects? Come off hook, and check for side tone sometime.

I had the same problem with a monitor station with direct link to the police. the problem is the interdigit mute timer will not release the mic untill it is ready. if you reduce the timer to 1-2 seconds then any one dialing a internal ext or getting a line only have 1-2 seconds to picl up handset and dial first digit.
the only way I got around this it to put that co port in its own group and programed a one touch button to dial group np 802 and 111. this picks up the co and sends 111, it will stop the interdigit timer and release the mic, and in my case anyway the 111 does not affect the circuit and is dialed before the police pick up

YOU ARE THE MAN! ![[Linked Image from sirius-business.com]](https://www.sirius-business.com/bowing.gif) Although I'm certified, tech support had been no help. "If it works on a CO line then it is obviously not our problem" was their answer. I desperately stayed on them and contacted the regional manager. Another level of support told me to decrease the co timer, and have my client go ROH and just dial a few digits. Not a professional method in my opinion. Although there is no perfect solution, I much prefer yours to theirs. It requires an in button and an out button, but doesn't seem stupid to the Ambulance company. You saved my butt!
