We are Nortel distributors, but one of our idiot sales rep decided to change a company's TDA 200 for a TDE 600 for capacity reasons.
Is the default numbering exclusively 4 digits, or can you change it to 3, cuz that will be a major problem. Of course, we techs will look like idiots, not the rep!
And one more thing: Nortel gives docs with systems; not Panasonic. Anywhere I can get it?

Default numbering is 3 digits, (atleast on tda600, almost same system), can be changed to four digits. One good thing to me about Panasonic is their flexible numbering.
Every Panasonic that I've done came with a CD, if you're doing a TDE one of you should be certified and have access to the Panasonic dealer website which has all manuals.

System offers to start with 1xxx or 2xxx.
We are not Panasonic, but Nortel, but got stuck in that situation. I know that under System/Numbering Plan/Main/extension you can set the prefix. We deleted all of the 2 digits prefix and put in one, but system says "error: block extensions still exist" and don't know where to set it to 3 digits on whole system.
We have BU file of the TDA 200, so we only need to copy and extend existing programming, but first we need to be in 3 digits extensions.

I've had that eror message a few times when renumbering in that page. I would try again. Delete all 2-digit prefixes and apply. Then try entering 1 and apply.

Whatever I do, the same error appears. We deactivated every card, the expansion cabinet and all. But since TDA supports 3 digits, maybe the TDE series doesn't...?
I mean, if it defaulted to 4, there has to be something to it

94 astro is correct the problem is that you are trying to renumber a block or numbers ie 1000 range however an extension,or group,or feature is using that 1000 range so removing the card wont delete the used range you will have to go down through each extension card deleteing all the extension numbers then try to change the number block if it doesnt change then you need to keep looking . peter ( www.vpi.ie)

You have to check everywhere - not only extnsions for sets, but OGM recordings, modems, floating paging numbers, voicemail pilots, etc, will all have the same extension numbering plan and will need to be changed.
