Hi there,
Our company had these Telrad 16 button digital phone sets installed a while back, the company that installed them must have fone bust because their phone number doesnt exist anymore and finding help for these phones online is like trying to find hens teeth! Anyway my question is: I need to re-programme the phone to a new extension number. If I swap phones around the lights flash backwards and forwards like knight riders car and they are unusable unless they can be re-programmed to use that floor port. What is the key sequence to un-programme then re-programme the phone to use a different extension number? Ive tried picking up the handset, dialing the desired extension number, pressing hash, then putting the handset down - but that doesnt work...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Grant

You need the system programing software or try moving the wires in the MDF. I could help you if you want to move the wires by giving you some tips, but it's esier with the software. You can only move EXT this way. Look for SSPhone on one of the other posted MSGS and he can sell you a programing kit. It's worth the investment for you and your company. If you ever need to do anything down the road we can help you if you have to programing software.
The knight rider is because you have Double Bus EXT. You have to put the EXT into the phone by hitting # XXX # So if that phone is EXT 223 Dial #223#. To clear a DN Unplug the phone and plug it back in holding the # key. It's hard to explain over a MSG broad but get the Kit and you will understand more

As long as they are the same type of set you can swap them, if the port is programmed for a different type of set then you will have to change that port to a different type and that can only be done with a programming kit, if you know what the port number is and it is the same type then all you have to do is plug it in and dial the new port number and press #.The only time you would have to clear it would be if it comes up as a duplicate.
What system and software release are you running? If you need a programmer kit either SS or myself can help.

Thank you for your replies! Luckily enough the sets are the same, I didnt realise that I had to set the phone to the port it is plugged into. The mistake I was making was plugging the phone in and trying to set it to any available extension number.
Thanks again for your help, Ive been fighting with this issue for so long now..
Regards, Grant
