My supplier tels me I can program sb 7.30 software with sb 7.01. Is this true? I just went to another site to verify my cable and connector are not the issue, I got right into the system.

No you can not.

Come on Tony the correct PCP for SB7.30 to 7.34 is 7.33b for that matter all release SB7.01-7.34 should use 7.33b. After 7.34 you shold be using Emanager.

YES I DID CALL YOU. THANKS FOR THE HELP. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE SOFTWARE WORKING THAT I WAS EMAILED FROM MY ORIGINAL SUPPLIER. IT APPEARS THAT THE PHONE SYSTEM WAS THE PROBLEM, AS I WENT TO ASITE WITH SB 7.33 SOFTWARE AND WAS ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH IT JUST FINE. I STILL CAN'T TALK TO THE 7.30 YET. MY SUPPLIER RECOMMENDS REPLACING THE MPD CARD AND THEN THE MEMORY IF THAT DOESN'T FIX IT. DOES THIS SOUND LIKE THE RIGHT FIX? WHEN I TRY TO TALK TO THE SYSTEM I ONLY GET AS FAR AS THE COMM PORT AND BAUD RATE AND WHEN I PRESS ENTER IT GOES TO A BLACK SCREEN AND THE CURSOR JUST FLASHES IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER.

As SSphones says is correct. You shouldn't use 7.01 with sb7.33 but I have programed systems with my old laptop that has 7.01 and be able to program. BUT YOU SHOULD USES THE RIGHT SOFTWARE.

I am going to work on a Telrad 400. It has been a while since I have used the old Dos version. Can someone give me some guidance like how to access the program and what to be careful of? Thanks Chaser

Couple of things:
Instead of digging up a 2 year old post, how about starting a new one.
And I guess the biggest thing you need to know is you have to have the correct PCP programmer to match the system software and if it is a IPeX or MPD2 you have to use Emanager.
And 1 more thing we offer tech support by phone if you need a refresher course on programming.
