I have a user that somehow has a couple of hundred voicemails and wants me to purge them - i cant log into the admin box (999) - the prompt just says 'goodbye' and hangs up on me..
i noticed that some of the admin boxes have @ symbols with codes at the extension.. my admin box only has an "H" .. is this right?
what other way can i purge the users box without killing her mailbox settings?

The user can delete them. After deleting one message listen for a prompt to dial 7 for delete all or something close to that. It may not delete all of them in 1 try with a couple of hundred messages. I would guess this is not a Stratagy Flash if it was you would have alot more issues with this many messages.

It's called continuous delete.

The recond I've seen for a Stratagy IES was over 2,000 old messages. We had to backup and change out the voicemail. Backup has over 1 gig.

I can't remmeber about the DOS version but in the ES there is a setting that says how many messages to delete at once using continuous delete. Usually ends up being 25-30 at a time.

The "H" in the extension field for 999 is correct. Are you sure you dial a * first?
