I tried adding the 998H to the extension field and it had no affect from what I could tell...it's like it will not accept a message to 998...

at least it's friday......and almost over...3 more hours....

this last test I just pushed the vm button, waited for message, pressed 9, waited a second, entered in an extension number, then #, the it said to wait while it tried that extension and then you would wait for what seemed like the timeframe while the phone was actually ringing (checked on a phone near me and yes, it is just sending it to the phone and ringing the line as normal) and it was....

There is something I am just not seeing here.....

further research says that the configuration variable 'box_snd' has something to do with this, if I recall, in this config it was set to 8, does this need to match the 9 in the 990/991 scenario or does it need to be set to 998 as the manual says to do or?

But the user will probably only use it while listening to the main gretting anyway so having it as a menu option in 990and 991 may be simpler to setup.

Those are both shortcuts to ext 988. I see that there is a problem with mailbox 998. It should ask for an extension number of the box you want to leave a message, not the message that you can not leave a message. Something got changed or erased. I would have to check a working system to see what it is supposed to look like.
I just went back and re-read what you said, browsed around in the manual and made better sense of what you said, and BAM, went into box 8 and added @G998 in the extension field, saved, BADDA BING, BADDA BOOM!

Works like a champ!

now I just need to go in and change the system speed dial 699 that they girls are used to using to be equal to 8 instead of 998, right? then they will be able to do the same thing they have been before!

ROCK ON!

(now do I need to undo the 990/991 stuff?)
