If you check the knowledge base, there is an article on QSIG networking that can help a lot.
Basically you need to set up LCR to do an analasis of NXX on Plan 1 and 1NXX on Plan 2.
You'll need modified digit table 2 to have (nodeID of washington)+9, eg if washington's node id is 81, you'd have 819.
In Route Definition 2, use the OLG of the QSIG and Mod 2.
Table 2 should have Definition 2 and also Definion 1 if the qsig is down.

I think that should do it, but not certain.

I'm sorry but it is that easy smile Using 81 as an example node ID, the caller would pickup the phone and dial 819 for long distance calling.

The more compicated way is the way described above which is to create an LCR table to route some calls through the other system based on the area code.

I looks like Pkey is pretty much what I remember. His example of plan 2 is 1NXX which would route all long distance thru the qsig. If you only wanted to route calls local to Washington then change it to 1+area code for Washington.

Basically you are telling the phone system to use the QSig OLG, and dial Node ID + 9, instead of the user remembering to do it.

Thanks everyone. Now that I understand the process in it's simplest form (Thanks newtecky) I feel a little better about diving in a little deeper. At least I have an alternataive should I fail. Luckily this is a situation where I'm not TRYING to get in over my head. The only thing I've done on CTX before is add a line card to another system and move this one to the other side of the building. Like I said earlier, I didn't really ask for this, the customer really wants me to learn his system. When he first asked me if I could move it, I asked him why he wasn't having his usual provider do it. Thats pretty much standard for me. He didn't like the company's practices. For one they refuse to work Saturdays. Not even for double time. That kind of baffled me but I guess that says something about their level of caring.
Thanks again guys. He'll be glad to hear about this.
