Our small company inherited a Toshiba DKT2010-SD phone system with a new office building. The system is set up fine - luckily one of our in-house tech guys has some previous knowledge. Very often, our office is down to a single person for a few hours at a time, while the shop is abuzz with workers. If the person in the office needs to speak to one of the guys on the shop floor, they have to leave the entire phone system behind. Of course, that is when someone tries to call.
I have asked in-house if we can just plug in a cordless phone somewhere and haven't yet gotten any real answers as to how/if it would work as I'd want it.
Here's some basic info which should help this along. We have Verizon business phone service. There are 3 lines, the 3rd acting as both a call and fax line. If someone calls on line 1 and it is in use, it will automatically ring to the next available line. If someone calls on line 1 and no one answers, the call goes to our "digital office" through VoiceNation, without ringing to any other lines.
Basically I'm looking for a cordless phone that would ring for all 3 lines, and allows someone to be put on hold so the Toshiba system can pick up the call. Will this system allow it? Will it require a specific cordless phone? Will it require 3 separate cordless phones (thus making this idea far more burdensome)?
Thanks for any help
