I have a question about Toshiba's warranty.

Let's say you have a CTX-670 that was purchased new in late 2004. The processor has never been upgraded. It had 7 years of warranty.

If the processor were to crash and be replaced under warranty, would Toshiba replace it with the same (old) version, or would they send out the latest/greatest processor as a replacement?

Our processor died and the service company originally told us that Toshiba would replace it, under warranty, with the lastest version. But now, after the fact, they're trying to charge us for the processor upgrade. They claim that Toshiba always replaces a processor, under warranty, with the same version.

Is that true?

Thanks,

Barry

It's at Toshiba's option to repair or replace with a new or refurbished item.

I don't mind if it's new or refurbished. What I'm concerned with is the version.

Would the replacement processor be the latest version?

OK. That's exactly the info I was looking for. If they would do a warranty replacment of a broken CTX with a CIX.

Thanks!!

Barry
