We have a customer with an IPT location asking about tying the paging horns into the system. Has anyone tried anything like this before?
The system is at one their central office and they have a few IPTs at a warehouse location in a different city.
Any ideas?

One option would be to have one IPT designated as the paging phone, open that phone up and tap onto the speaker leads and connect that to your paging equipment. This will obviously void the warranty on that phone but it works.

I was thinking about that, maybe gut it and build a nice package with just the network and power exposed, make it look like part of the paging horn. I was hoping there was already something like this on the market.

There are a number of IP paging gateways, try googling IP paging and see what comes up?

I just used an IP phone with a BHUE adaptor ( I believe it was an IP 2000), then connected to a BESCB1A and a horn, without cutting speaker wires.
I am sure that there are SIP based paging systems from either vilikingelectronocs.com or valcom.com
