I had to purchase a new VM Card-IES16 last week. The company preconfigured it for me but I have no ability to check voicemail outside of the office. I dial the phone#. When I hear the recording, I press * then put in the extension. This usually allows me to enter the security code. It now transfers me back to our main office greeting-MB 990. I have the Stratagy VM program as well as Stratay CIX Network Manager systems loaded on my PC. What can I do to access voicemail remotely?

Are you pressing the # key after your extension number?
If yes, try it with out the #

can you say what happens step by step? Normally You hear main greeting. You press the * key. You hear "Press enter you user ID" (Possibly with "finished by pressing pound"). You enter your extension number. -Depending on how it's programmed, it would immediately go to next step or it may wait about 2 seconds. Then you hear "Enter your security code finished by pressing pound"
If you pressed the # key after the user ID when it wasn't expecting it, Statagy would dump you out to the main greeting.
All this may be basic, but since I can't hear the messages, I am just wondering where the failure is occuring. Sometimes you have to go step by step (but not too slow. The Stratagy doesn't wait very long).
Also, being tuesday, the system should have reset, so I would try it again.

I dial the DID that I would like to check VM. It does not ring at all. It goes straight to the VM Greeting. When I hear the greeting begin I press * and the VM extension w/o the #. When I do that I get, "please hold while I try that extension". Then I am transferred to the main greeting-MB 990. I try the same steps with #. Today (Friday) I tried to let the VM message finish then tried the steps but no success with that either. This mailbox does not have a phone it is an internal # that is used for employees to call out so I always check it from home prior to coming into the office.

Press just the * key, does the voicemail ask for your mailbox number?

I pressed the * key. It asks me to "please hold while it tries the extension".

You would have to run a trace while you press the * key to see what the system is hearing. As far as I know, you can not remap the * key for any purpose other then a login.

Does it work if you press * at the main greeting 990?
