On an STSe:
Customer has 10 lines in trunk group 1. Auto attendant answers live 24/7. Everyone (except attd station 100) is setup for preset fwd no-answer internal and external to 440.
An eleventh line appears and rings three phones ( x101, x102 and x103) and should -never- be answered by voicemail.
The problem is line 11 follows the external preset fwd for the first station programmed to ring - in this case x101. If unanswered, the caller ends up in mailbox 101. If I take away the external preset fwd for 101, the caller ends up in mailbox 102, etc.
I guess I could make the co 11 preset fwd destination be an all ring hunt group. Anyone else run into this?
Wish there was a way to suppress the HUNT 4XX display on the phones when a memeber of a hunt group...

I agree with you on the hunt group display. It's such a pain. I get around this by arranging stations to preset forward on busy to the next station and so-on.
As for the line 11 issue, have you checked the page B programming for that line? Is it possible that it is set there to preset forward to voice mail? That's the only place I can think the problem would be because if a line rings at more than one station, theoretically it shouldn't go to any mailbox. I guess if you could program this line for direct ringing to all three stations, you would be OK but it sounds like that's not what you want.
As a last resort, how about programming this line to a virtual extension and have call coverage buttons on 101, 102 and 103 for it?

Thanks Ed!
Yes the line is programmed to ring all three extensions. This has me puzzled, because I know that if a line rings more than one phone it shouldn't do this, but it is. There is no preset fwd destination programmed for the trunk (flsh 40, page B).
I will make it ring a virtual extension only and add a call coverage button on these three phones.
Thanks much!

Hmmmm, interseting. I also thought that Vodavi would not forward an outside call to a mailbox unless it has been transfered directly to that extension. That is one of the problems we have with Norstar.
Maybe it is because the system does not know what to do with it because there is no preset forward. You may try preset forwarding line 11 to the voicemail group, 440. Then change the preset forward timer (flash 40, page c, button 8) to be 99 seconds. Most likely they'll hang up before that long.
Let us know how it turns out.
I'm with you on the Hunt Group display. Last week we turned up a system that had several different hunt groups. All the women wanted to know what a hunt group was.

that is a bug in the software and is also a bug on the XTS & XTSc it is fixed in for the XTS in the latest software. I'm not sure if it is fixed on STSe though. But a quick fix is in the CO preset fwd set it to 99 seconds if someones stays on the line that long they'll go insane anyway. let me know if that works

The trunks preset fwd timer is 99 and the destination is blank (####). Still follows the first ringing station's external preset fwd destination. I temporarily fixed this. They have SBC voicemail that answers line 11 after 6 rings. I set extension 100s preset fwd timer to exceed the six rings. The downside is any transferred call to x100 rings 7-8 times before the caller gets his vmbox...

it needs to have a destination in the day/night/special destination field(440) for it to be active. I had to do the same thing on a STSe two weeks ago.
