So we have an old Starplus STS with an in-skin Vmail. I attempted to enable auto-attendant about a year or so ago and worked like a charm. Had a menu system like such:
If you know your parties extension press 1- If you want company info press 2-.. etc..
Problem was...what happened if they did not press any buttons. After I think it was 3 loops of the menu it drops to the vmail prompt saying "Do you have a mailbox on this system" type thing.
So question is, is there a way to forward calls to vmail if caller does not press 1,2 etc..? IE> A default vmail id for the auto attendant
I called vodavi on it awhile back and after speaking with two support guys they indicated this was not possible but I was not too confident on their abilites. I don't think they understood the problem very well. Anyhow, I assumed this was a feature of the better vmail system and dropped it but now would like to get it working again.
Any hints would be greatly full. Thanks much!!

It should go to the Attendant by default after 3 loops. I just called one of my customers' office and it worked like a charm. You may have to initialize the voice mail system and start over but Ed and some of the other techs willl be along soon and they may have a better resolution for you.
I have scanned through the installer's manual and didn't come accross anything about the problem. It may be there and I'm just not seeing it. I'll go back over it later today.
I don't know why you didn't get the help you needed from tech support. I've only called them a few times but they gave me precise information each time. Maybe you are right, they may not have understood what the problem was.

Yea..I think that might be working now. I just enabled autoattendant back and it seems to be going to attendant Extensions vmail after the 3 loops. What I'm really looking for is to send the call after 1 loop to a vmid on the voicemail in-skin. But that Might be a dream

yes sir it is a dream and a dream that bugs the H@!! out of me. I can't stand that you have to hear the greeting for 3 times before it times out. Hopefully this feature will change!
