I have a STARPLUS STSe that I am trying to set up the Message Waiting Reminder Tone. I set it up using FLASH 01, Button #13. I set the M/W TONE TIMER 000-104 005 I hit HOLD and the screen updated to show 5 minutes.
I do not get any reminder tones after 5 minutes???

Looks like you're doing it correctly. Don't like to assume so your MW light is lit while you're trying this. Correct? I set mine for 1 minute using the proceedures and it works fine.

Thanks for getting back so quickly.
The message waiting light is blinking to show a new message. I changed the time to 1 minute and it still does not send a tone.

In the display does it say MSG and what station left the message? I know the user guide says it flashes slow, but mine is lit steady don't know if that means anything or not. I just tried again and it works fine, left messages from several stations both digital and SLT. Is your speaker volume turned up? When you hit hold do you get a confirmation tone?

The display shows the station ID ifd it is an internal call and Caller ID if message is from an outside line. Speaker volume is up. I do not get a confirmation tone when I hit Hold.

If you're not getting the confirmation tone are you getting a deny tone? What station number are you doing this from? Yet you say the msg lamp is flashing. Rapdily or slowly?

Are you trying to get a tone alert when a voice-mail is left or, when someone manually leaves a message-waiting indication?
I don't believe the reminder tone works for voice-mail MWI. Do you have the light control programmed to flash for messages?

I understood it as message waiting Larry. Maybe I'm mistaken. You may be on to something though since they have a msg light, but nothing in the display as to who left the message indicator. Would also explain the flashing msg light.

I am trying to get the MWI tone when a voicemail is left. I set it up from ext 100 and tried again from ext 104 (my ext).
The message light flashes rapidly.
The display reads: VM Messages 000-001-001 on the first line and date and time on the second line.
When I retrieve the message, the display shows the station ID that left the message or the outside number that left the message.

As Larry posted the tone isn't for voicemail. My mistake. Read the explination for the message alert and you'll see what he's talking about.
