Customer inherited a Vodavi Infinite System at a new location; we've been doing well with programming from port 1, until yesterday, when all buttons on all phones stopped working. we therefore cannot get into programming by phone. when we connect a laptop to it & re-boot, it says Ram Block's 2 & 3 Failed; When it asks for password & we putin the default password from the DVXIII manual ( we think its a DXVIII but not sure) we don't get the ADM prompt & can't get into programming. Do we need a new CPU or can we initialize the Stations? The MPB1 card is a V100, ver 2.16-3FE2. thanks

I suspect that any display phones have serial number displayed no time and date?
If so:
It sounds like a cpu failure....it could have been caused by a power glitch. The system could be old enough that the cpu ram memory battery is dead. It should read over three volts when no power is on. If it does not then it would need to be replaced. If the battery is the culprit you may be able to reinitialize the system by moving switch eight on the CPU to the opposite direction and reset the system. This will also reset the admin password if it was changed from default.
However something doesn't fee right here...if you can get the password prompt you should be able to log on....but it has been a long time since I had a system behave like this. When it did, if a simple reset did not fix it I usually just reinitialized it right away.

I'm also guessing the battery on the cpu.
I had one recently go bad, system just rebooting endlessly. I replaced the battery, reinitialized and reprogrammed and its been good ever since.
