i got a call from a business with a stse that has a hardrive voicemail. the auto attendant works fine in day mode but quit working right in night mode. it picks up ok and will transfer to a ext but from there it wont forward to the mbx. i checked the fwd in sta programing and not of the stations were set to fwd. i set them to fwd to 440. they are set for 10 seconds. i gave a call this evening and it still isnt forwarding to the mbx. is it possible it just wont hold the program for that feature. any other ideas about this. thanks dave

This is not an auto attendant voice mail issue. The Phone system has three modes: day, night and special. Every time this kind of problem happens the phone system is in a mode that the station forwarding is not set for each phone. My bet is the system was not really in night mode but special mode (night/dnd button on the op's phone blinking..instead of lit solid).

the way they have it set up is automatically going to night. i tried putting it in night service manually pushing dnd on ext 100. for some reason it still picked up the day menu so i called in after hours to test it. im wondering it it was set up to use special mode rather than night. i can try that.

The Voicemail may be set for a time control as well to run different menu's for different hours instead of KSU clock control.
I am thinking like Derrick I would double check your flash 51 Fwd settings for Day/Night/Special and make sure atleast the NoAnswer is set to 440.

Also, if you could change the voice mail to KSU clock control. It is usually the best thing to do when the phone system is using auto night service.

well i did go out there again and i tried using the dnd button in all three modes and evey one gets the day menu when i call in. but at night they do get the night menu not sure which clock but it is working that far. but the problem is after the customer enters the ext number it never makes it to the mbx. i assume it is ringing the ext until disconect. on the first visit the stations werent set to 440 in cfna night so i did that thinking i had solved the problem that they had somehow lost programing for that. today i did check special fwd na prog for sets. i set it to 440 just in case that is the one going to night menu. i am starting to wonder if there is damage to the ksu or software corruption.

The greeting change is being controlled by the voice mail itself by use of a Time Control, not KSU clock control, that is why the dnd button has no effect over the message changing. One thing to remember though, is that pushing the button does not instantly change the message, it can take up to five minutes.

I can't even begin to recount how many calls I have had from customers who put the system into night and then immediately try to test it. Depending on the system, it can sometimes be as quick as one minute before it takes but the systems will never take immediately.

i didnt know that. well i went back and i put two extensions in na/fwd to 440 in special mode. i called in tonight and tried it and it worked. i could leave a message on both mailboxes and then i tried a couple of the other extensions that i didnt change and they worked fine also going to the mbx so im as confused as ever.
