Howdy, I have a fairly odd problem. My company sold one of our divisions. This division has a one cabinet Siemens Hicom 300 9006.5 running LC-Win v4.0.053 with an old Phonemail 7652 voicemail system. We have been supporting this equipment for the last year since the sale, but the support agreement is about to expire. The new owners of that division have no one in their organization with Siemens/Rolm experience, but they want to obtain training for one of their IT/Telephony techs. We have advised them to either hire someone or contract with an outside vendor for third party support since Siemens has no training classes scheduled for these older systems, but they are determined to keep it in-house. Is anyone out there aware of any training classes for these older Siemens systems.

Since they insist on keeping it in-house, the 3 best things I can think of are: 1. You've been maintaining the system so you must know how to work on it, charge them for your time to train someone. 2. Other Systems forum 3. Get a manual

I agree with Joe; if you have been maintaining the equipment spend a couple hours a day training the guy that will be taking over. If the new person has any telcom experience they should pick it up.

There are several companies that can supply remote support, if you are in the Houston area I have a contact there that can help them. If it is just maintaning the equipment, and doing small MAC a couple of days training will get someone by until they have hands on experience.

Thanks folks. They got a couple of their desktop support folks into a Siemens class for the switch. Now they are wanting Phonemail training. Shoot, I never got any formal training myself and I've been working on the bloody things for 10 years. However, they don't seem to think myself or my peer (25 years of Siemens/Rolm experience between us) are capable of teaching them how to administer Phonemail.
Well, I found a company that will fly someone in from Kansas to train them...for about 20 times what we would have charged.
