Forty dollars is pretty close to free for Callcorder's Advanced Call Center software. But if you insist on free, I found one that seems to meet all your specifications here . Technically it's "Free to try" and may have a time or capability limitation. It's rated five stars on a very popular shareware site, so it's probably a worthwhile piece of code. I used modem capture caller id answering machine as Google search terms to find these results.

i used ACC. paid for it. but all it does is crash. i was hoping you all might know of a STABLE peice of software that would do the job and run on off the shelf hardware.

My telco provider allows me to block any number I choose. Have you checked that route?

i've got commie cast tripple play and embarq is the regular telco.
last time i asked neither company offered number blocking.
but as i stated earlier embarq did at one time back when they were still united telephone company.

Sounds like you may have better luck putting in a small phone system that will route calls off of CID info.
There are several small phone systems on the market today that support in bound call routing based on CID.
Avaya IP office is just one of many. And it comes in many different flavors and sizes.

checked flea bay. prices are not too bad for avaya ip office stuff. also with the advanced call center subject, i decided to drag out yet another voice modem and i'm back to tweaking settings till i get it working again. hopefully this time around, i'll get it figured out before i get frustrated and hang it up for another few months. i have a 64bit Pentium D computer someone gave me. maybe i'll grab some telephony cards and build an asterisk system

I don't recommend flea bay to anyone.
If you are seriously looking for a properly set-up system. Call your local Avaya Business Partner. To find them you can go to Avaya.com and do a look up for BP's in your area.
A phone system is much like anything else, you get what you pay for.

While I know it is older, my Norstar MICS 7.1 with NAM does this. (Routing based on CID info in tables). Works very well.
