I'm moving an NEC system for a customer, not sure what model of system it is. I know i'ts a small NEC with about 8 phones, It should just be a simple move (I hope) with no programming I'm assuming. My 1st question is do I need to do anything before powering down? does it have a "set Relocation" feature on it? 2nd is the customer would like a voicemail, what VM would be best, does NEC make a voicemail proprietory to it's systems?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing we need is the type. Could be an EP-1 or EP-II, or a 1000. Could be an older 8x16 or up. The voice mail can be an after market one depending on the level of software on the system. Find out the system type for us first. Everthing is programmed by ports, so you will have to cross-connect them accordingly. It has not set relocation, thank God! Some NEC systems use the orange pair of an RJ-14 jack. Make sure you check it.
