Is there a default code in this system to turn message waiting on/off? Customer has a phone with the MW light locked on. They've cleared messages out of their mailbox numerous times...
I didn't see any previous posts that relate to this particular system.

There aren't any default codes as such in the IVS. There are however common settings, that is most techs will set certain features to the same codes. Here in Oz we prefer to use the message waiting/reminder search feature to clear this and usually set it to *# so to clear a message you simply dial *#3. Now your problem is finding out what code is used on your system. Do you know how to get into cat mode or do you have mat access?

CAT mode only. Guess I'll check this out on my next trip to the site. (I didn't have a programming manual with me the last time)

You will be looking for the code assigned A46 and the way it is used is that code followed by a 3. This only cancels one message so if there are multiple messages you may need to do it more than once. If you can get into cat mode I'll assume you know how to look up the codes but if you don't just post back.

On my 2000 IVS you can clear the VM light on the phone by using *33. We do not change our defaults usually so it might work for you.
