I was wondering what your experience has been with the IPK II? Accoding to my NEC distributor, the IPK II has a number of problems which NEC is trying to resolve. They have recommended waiting until NEC updates the firmware on the IPK II.
I have someone who has an existing Elite 48 and wants to implement VOIP for 3-5 remote located employees. From what I understand, the IPK II has an updated design for VOIP; whereas, I have seen several references on this forum to problems in implementing VOIP on the IPK. I had someone recommend an MCK PBX Gateway for implementing VOIP on the Elite. Another alternative would be the NEC Aspire but none of the ETUs from the Elite can be used with the Aspire.
What would be your recommendations? Any recommendations on who or where I can find information on NEC Elite VOIP implementations would be appreciated.

We have had no problems with setting up VOIP on the Elite's, the MEGACO (IAD Card) is easy to set up. The programming is all done through an HTML interface; then you plug the data into the phone and presto. We have five to six sites with VOIP off the IPK's and don't have any issues. The IAD card can be used with the IPK II, and NEC has another card that allows 16 phones (Off the top of my head I think it is an PVA card???).
The only problems that we have had with VOIP is: the end users network, or network people.

Thanks! Are you using QOS routers to achieve voice quality? If so, which routers did you select?
I have checked the Internet bandwidth at the remote employee located sites and it appears more than adequate. Typically, 800 kbs down and 3-400 kbs up.

We don't supply the routers. We make sure that the phone works and can make calls from the main site. From there on it is up to thier network guy, unless they are paying for us to manage thier data netwok.

I have been working on testing the IPK2 down this part of the world for the past month.
I would leave it until the next release of software comes out if you want to use anything but the basic system.
FYI. Megaco does not currently work on IPK2. The IP Dterms keep resetting every 2 minutes when idle.. I'm hoping that the PVA card works better when I can get my hands on one.

Thanks. I would appreciate your posting when you have an opportunity to try the PVA card.
My wife and I just took the last Princess Cruise of the season from Auckland around New Zealand with Sydney as the final destination. We were very impressed with both Australia and New Zealand.
