We have an IPK II new install and we have connected 2 DSS consoles. They are plugged into the power supply and a digital port but are completely unresponsive - no beep or anything - please help !

Of course you programmed the port info in the system & then assigned some buttons. That's all there is to it.

Seems to me you have to install, then program them or the system doesn't see them. If you program them before installing them, I don't think that they work.

This is correct. Plug your base cord in, then the power supply & the CPU II will auto assign it. Then, you can program your buttons & assign it to the station...
