Since it is in a small closet I would bet it isn't a dedicated circuit, could be an electrical motor, As before mentioned go buy a UPS/surge protector, They are very affordable now under $100 ,Even if it doesn't solve your problem ,It will be money well spent. One more question was it proffessionally installed or DIY Internet purchase.does the system have a ground wire.

I had a DS2000 that would power down and restart after 5sec.After calling tech support I was over nited a software upgrade which is now the 3.22.0.System have now shut down anymore.That was two years ago.
If you say you don't know you will get more respect.
