Hi,
Does anybody know if you can access the XN120 system speed dials aphabetically - or can you only access them via their bin locations?? We are using the XN Vision systems phones.

I think the speed dial access in the XN120 is very similar to the Aspire. Your user guide should reference "Directory Dialing".
Do not lift the handset or press SPK Press the DIR softkey Press ABBc (common abreviated dialing) Dial a letter Press the Down Arrow soft key to jump to that section Press volume up/down to scroll through the list Lift handset or perss DIAL to place call.

Thanks for the reply. But when I press the DC key to access the speed dials I am only able to enter numbers ie the bin locations.

The sequence should be:
Press Speed dial, Press DC

If you built speed dials using the Abbreviated dialing feature, then the process for calling would be: Press [DC] dial the speed dial bin (which was pre-programmed). This method requires everyone to have a cheat sheet of programmed names/numbers and the associated bin. To make it simple, how about assigning a programmable function key as a speed dial: Press , dial 851, press the button to program, enter 9 + the telephone number, press [hold] [speaker]. Now, the user just lifts the handset, presses the programmed function key... the call is placed.

Hi,
Thanks but the cheat sheet is what I'm trying to avoid. There's over a hundred speed dials on our list - so not enough buttons. I've called NEC Infrontia support & they tell me you can select abb speed dials alphabeticaly but programming is required - they won't tell me how because I'm not a reseller! I have the software amd have made other minor changes. Any clues? Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

Hi,
I worked it out. I had to program one of the function keys to allow 'Directory Dialing'. Then it was as you suggested. Thanks again for your help.
