I don't have much experience with NEC products and am trying to learn a new (to me) system. It is an Electra Elite 48 that I pulled from a customer's site about a year ago. It was operational when removed and has been sitting in the shop since. When I power it up all I see in the phone display is "SYSTEM POWER-UP IN PROGRESS" and all the "LIVE" indicators are flashing. It never advances beyond this point. I have the manuals but can find no hint as to what the problem might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I never saw that in any LCD on any of my Elite systems ( We have hundreds out there! ). I don't think there is even room for that text to fit in the LCD. I don't believe we have an NEC Elite 48 system here. Please try to confirm the system type.

I am absolutely sure of the system type. The phones are the only thing I am unsure of. The numbers on the phones don't match anything listed in the manual, but they are the ones that were on the system at the customer's site. The designation on the phones is BDS 22-BTN DISPLAY TEL, Part No 80573, DX7NA-12TXH TEL (DG).

You have a NEC DS1000 or DS2000 phones, I bet you do not have an elite 48 or you have the wrong phones hooked up to it.

Thanks for the help folks. I did have the wrong phones. Found the DTU-8D-2 phone buried away in the warehouse. The system came right up. Thanks again.
