On the PRO I the port is not the same as the extension. The first station port is 01 and typically the extension assignment is 10. So port 01 = station 10, port 02 = station 11, etc. In your case apparentaly ports 23 and 24 were assigned to voice mail. The PRO I wants the voice mail pilot to be assigned as station 50 in a hunt group. The logical procedure for a 2-port voice mail is to assign Port 23 to = station 50 and port 24 to = station 51. To call voice mail dial the extension assignment not the port number.

There are only 16 ports, but what you say makes absolute sense. I have my notes from the original NEC installer (out of business now), and he had Port 14=station 51, and Port 15=Station 52. I just switched it back to that, but no better luck. Everything seems to be ok, except it will not recognize the call after it picks up. Like I said earlier, if I hit the # key, the greeting starts fine.

You said you assigned mailboxes 10-59? I would remove mailboxes 50-59. You probably do not want mailbox assignments that match the voice mail extension numbers.

Thanks jvan.I changed assigned mailboxes to 10-49.
VM ports are 14=ext. 51 15= ext. 52
Dial, Ringback, & Busy tones were all learned successfully.
I'm certain that the problem is with the NEC Pro settings because I have tried (2) different Lingo units, and they both do the exact same thing.

I'm thinking my problem may be in the Voice Mail Access Code Assignments. System 1 Data 67
Access codes 01 - 11
I'm using 81 thru 88 for 01-08
09 I left blank
10 = 641
11 = 642

It seems like the system is looking for a # on one of these codes.

Check
MB 4-01 voice mail ports must be assigned as SLT 'yes'.
MB 4-07 assign tel ports used as voicemail 'yes'. MB 1-64 SLT transfer selection must be set to 'hangup'.

Bob, check these programs in your Level 1 system.

1-34= Hold
1-35= 50
1-64= Hangup
1-67 Access Codes 03-07= * (Leave all others at default)
1-68= 1.0
1-69= 100/70
4-01= ports 15 & 16= SLT (YES)
4-06= ports 15 & 16= 51 & 52
4-07= ports 15 & 16= YES
4-15 & 16 are Day & Night ring

Now I hope you did'nt re-initialize the Lingo, that would have killed the Lingo to Level 1 integration. I won't be able to help you if that is the case.

Yes. Those setting were all correct as I had them.

On Voice Mail / SLT Selection 4-07 I tried the VM ports as "NO" and the VM picked up immediately, and played the greeting immediately, as it should. But it will not recognize any key tones.

The phone system programming areas that address DTMF are...
MB 1-68 voice mail DTMF delay timer set to 1.0sec
MB 1-69 set the voice mail DTMF duration timer to 100/70msec

On the PRO I the the PBR-C[4]-11KTU card supports DTMF signaling to the voice mail. It is possible that card is bad.

I can't thank you all enough. I'm making a ton of progress. I've got my system doing "something" like it should. My issue now is the Lingo is picking up ALL incoming calls, even though I have set it to Application # 3 VM only, no automated attendant.

p.s. I was also able to obtain a complete set of Lingo manuals via email from Active Voice. If anyone could use these, I'd be glad to forward.
