This is a Electra Elite 48. I configured CID on the system. After configuration, The first line displays "ERROR" when selected.

Inbound calls ring the line but I'm unable to select the line (lk1) because it keeps stating ERROR.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Eddie

Thanks Always.

Check out Com. 4-12 to make sure that LK1 = CO1 for that port.

Thank you Vad,

I will be onsite later today and I will look at it again.

Now I have one question, the LK1 lights up when the co1 call comes in. Its upon selecting the call that you hear the error beep and the LCD displays ERROR.
Does this correspond with the 4-12 setting incorrectly setup?

Thank you again,
Eddie

Thanks Always.

Is it happening on all phones? Check MB 4-19 per station to see if "outgoing trunk restriction" is turned on (green light on line key) for trunk 1.

Yes it is. All phones. The light is off when offline and red when selected.

Thanks,
Eddie

When you say you configured CID on the switch, what exactly did you do?

I assume that it was working correctly before you setup CID??

You must have a COIB or COID card for caller ID. If you changed CO the card in the system from a COI to a COID or COIB you have to change the card type in 7-1.
Once you change the card type in 7-1, ALL of your trunk programming has to be re-done. 3-03, 3-04' 3-42/3-43, 4-12, 4-01/4-02.

CallerID only requires 3 or 4 program changes depending on your software level.

7-1
1-8-08
4-01/4-02
1-1-78

I replaced the COI with a COIB.
I enabled 1-1-78
I assigned the 8 ML Units to the first 8 #s.
I enabled 1-8-08 pg 4 LK3 & pg 6 LK7. Do I need to enable Pg4 LK4?
I did not modify 4-01 or 4-02. I will review it.
I did miss the card assignment. I will change that.

Thank you.
Eddie

If you are absolutely sure that you are working on an Elite 48, then you cannot use the COIB card. The "B" card is for the Elite IPK. You will need a COID card for caller Id on the Elite 48. You will have to reassign the card type in MB 7-1.

The COIB card was designed to fix a problem on the Elite 48 KSU's where there would be foreign voltages on the CO lines causing the CID data to be drained out the ground with the voltages.

It will work in the Elite 48.

I did not know that. So, if one were to install a COIB in an Elite 48, is it assigned as a COID or COI in MB 7-1?
