Good Morning, I am on my way to a job where I most likely have to default the Elitemail VMP using cosessions using a Netbook with USB to serial adapter. I have never used Co-sessions before. Can anyone tell me, I have searched all over the web and found no documentation. What can I expect to see when I get into Co-seesions. Is it pretty straight forward? ANything I should be aware of?

I should clarify, That I have opened co-sessions after installing but I meant what should I expect to see when connected to the Elitemail. Is THAT pretty straight forward.

You have never used cocessions which means you never have programed the Elitemail before, call in a NEC certified tech on this system, if he or she allows it watch and learn.

If it connects correctly, you'll see a screen that says "press any key to begin."
When you touch a key, you'll see a banner screen. That will confirm that you have connected correctly. From there, the tech will have to guide you.

you can program this without a pc if its straight forward with no t-boxes or anything. Make sure your baud rate is correct. it is higher with the VMP compared with the VMS or FMS.

Thanks All, The guy who sent me put me in touch with support from the company he gets the IPK systems from. THey walked me through the settings and we even tried several different baud rates. What happens is that it brings up the black window and not keys pressed or anything does anything. When you bring up task manager it says not responding. I have done this with two PCs, one windows 7 and one XP, two USB to Serial Adapters and two null modem cables. The vendor thinks while very rare that I may have a bad serial port or something. I am meeting with the telcomm guy on monday morning to discuss what went down and where to go next.

co sessions can be a bear. I have had to install/uninstall/reinstall it on a couple of laptops to get it to work, and then the next time you go to install it it works perfectly the first time.

I'd go through the administrator mailbox, as Team Pound suggested, unless it involves a Transaction box or something complex.

The problem is that the main mailbox password is not working. Apparently someone changed it. When I enter it it just says it did not hear my selection please select again. My co-sessions hangs not matter what PC I use. I did go to another client yesterday who has the same system and I can get into the admin box and all is fine. However I tried to connect to the VMP on that client and it too hangs my co-sessions so I may have to do what doghart said and uninstall and reinstall again. I wish I could get into the main mailbox via the phone as it would be so much easier.
