I got a call from a nearby Jewish Congregation seeking a new system. The first words out of her mouth were "it has to be cheap". That should have been my first clue.

Anyway, in addition, she said it must be user-friendly for setting up/changing auto attendant greetings and options. Of course, the term "user-friendly" depends largely upon the skills of the end user in most cases.

They currently have an ESI C Class system with just three phones and four lines. Frankly, I can't imagine any system that is easier than ESI, but she says that it is just way to complicated.

Before I pass on this one, I'm wondering if there even is such a system that is this small AND so easy that I won't have to be dealing forever with their interpretation of user friendly.

I'm leaning toward some of the non-KSU "systems" out there because of her comment about "cheap". I'm just no sure if any of them offer auto attendant, voice mail and information mailboxes, AND is so easy that a caveman can use it. Any suggestions?

Ed I really don't think you can beat the X16 for something like this. Greetings are very simple to change.

The problem is that if they think the ESI they have is to complicated then most likely anything you put in will confuse them as well. If they want cheap are they still wanting new?? And what is there idea of cheap?

I've had good luck with the G1E They have a new DK7 phone that works great for small setups.

If cheap and easy is the mantra, sell them any square system but DON'T sell them any voice mail. Any money you make will be lost in hand-holding. Let them use TelCo voice messaging with routing boxes. That way, the TelCo provider can deal with all the customer support.

jmarc,
Knowing Ed the way I do, I can tell you he meant absolutely nothing by it. And if you knew him you wouldn't be posting that comment.

No worries DTMF. This could have applied to any church, doctors office, lawyers office, etc. Took offense that he mentioned the Temple without any relevance to anything. In this economy everybody is looking to save money.
