I have a new account that has a i series system. I have not been to location yet to find out which one. They are having ghost ring problem. Several times a day the phone will ring and when they answer all they get is a dial tone. Phone co. says problem must be with PBX. Reboot does not fix. I'm headed to site later any suggestions?

that's a tough one since you cant duplicate to test , loop current is the first thing I would look at

how long has it been going on and have they recently changed carriers ?

I went to location and the wiring was a mess but didn't see anything that would cause a problem like that. They have had complaints from customers about getting busy signal but there has been empty lines available for calls. For some reason they have centrix I thinks its leftover from old times that never got removed. System is a DX2NA-24. I put a SLT on the dmarc and it also rang when the ghost call came in so that tells me its a provider problem. MBSWWYPBX

If the extension that rings starts with a 1, or a 11, or 111, etc., then the problem may be shorts in your wiring. A PBX will sometimes interpret a series of momentary shorts in an analog extension's wiring as an attempt to "pulse" dial an extension, usually 111.
