How do I use a headset with a D Term 80 phone model #DTH-16D-2 (BK)? I don't have a headset soft key. There is another avaiable phone in the office that says headset on one of the 8 keys but I can't figure out how to use a headset with that phone either. Neither phone has a headset soft key. Any suggestions?

1st, which NEC system are these phones on. 2nd more than likely, you will need a NEC vendor to program headset buttons on these phones which is performed thru the system programming. Based on which system you have & the software ver, it may be possible to program the button yourself as an end user. The phone that has the button labled, go to it & with the handset in the cradle, press the feature button then the headset button & look in the display to see it it says headset. If it does, make sure your headset is plugged into the headset plug next to where the handset plugs in to the phone.

When he said "which NEC system" he meant, "somewhere in your building there is a box on the wall that all of the phones connect to; what does it say on that box?"

i.e. ElectraElite, Elite IPK, IPKII, NEAX 2000 IPS, NEAX 2400 IMS, etc.

NEC dTerm phones will work on any of those "systems."

Calling out a contractor is probably a good idea. A service call for this will not be that expensive.

So what did Connect USA say when you called them about programming headset buttons on your phones? I would give them a call...
