Question:

I know how to program Personal Speed Dial upper bins within the 22 button NEC phone but how do you program System Speed Dial? When I do a check on the lower System Speed dial with the red lit button, I see Line 7-12 which are the ones I want to program with extension number 300 (Line 7), 301 (Line 8), etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Donny

Those will be called DSS keys when they go direct to another extension. Look for the info on how to program that - System Speed Dial is something else.......

If they are programmed as line keys you would want to change them to hotline ext3xx

Toolie and skip555, thank you for your information. I have checked into the DSS and Hotline section but I'm unable to understand parts of the programmable feature section.

I have found the User Programmable Features page 187.
https://ws1.necii.com/ds1000-2000/d2kdownloads/d2k%20files/user_guides/80000mfh08.pdf

Speed Dial, System

#77 + Dial System Speed Dial bin number (e.g., 200) + HOLD +
Dial outside line (e.g., 1), Line group (e.g., 90-98), or ICM for Intercom
feature + HOLD + Number to store + HOLD twice + Name +
HOLD + Dial another System Speed Dial bin or SPK to exit.

What I'm not following is the "Dial System Speed Dial bin number (e.g., 200)". I tried

#77 + 300 or Line 7 bin + HOLD + ICM for Intercom feature + HOLD + 300 + HOLD twice + Name +
HOLD + Dial another System Speed Dial bin or SPK to exit.

As for the hotline, I tried

Hotline Directions:
#45 + Press flashing Hotline key + Enter extension for new Hotline
partner + HOLD + Program another Hotline key or SPK to exit.

I understand the #45 but I don't understand "Press flashing Hotline key" because the only button flashing is the SPK which exits the system. The other issue I don't see is an option to press the System Bin Line 7 or bottom left corner (Busy Lamp Field).

Thank you if you can help in advance.

Oop, I apologize Toolie. You mentioned System Speed Dial is something else.

When I did get to the section DSS Console Key Assignments, I see..

Hotline

BLF:
Off: Partner is idle
On: Partner is ringing or busy
Fast Flash: Partner in DND
Operation: . . . . .Press to call Hotline partner.

How do you program into the Line 7 with ext 300?

Thanks
Donny

I think you will need to program the key as a hotline key first - in the section on programmable function keys. What you are looking at is how to change the hotline number assignment - but the key has not been assigned as hotline yet - so do that in the section about assigning programmable function keys. I think once you do that you will be all set!

our role here is to tell you what to do but not to give step by step instructions on how to do it

you might think about getting a tech into set this up for you . understanding and programming the DS series can be confusing if your not trained or have background in it
