Is there a way to display a different caller ID on a few extensions that show something other than the main number or DID numbers assigned to a site that is on SIP trunks? Changing the caller ID in programming, 21-19, to anything other than those numbers gives me a fast busy when I try to dial out on those extensions. I would like to program the caller ID to show an 800 number. Cbeyond (who supplies the SIP trunks) suggested using a "diversion header". All I found on this was on Cisco's site. Is there and equivalent for this on an SV8100?

Most carriers will not allow the idea of spoofing CLID. I have one carrier here that you can do it with SIP trunks on but they get a printout when you do it and will ask questions pretty quick. .
All the others will do as you are getting block the calls or force the billing pilot as the CLID.

I was told by CBeyond that they actually could do this with a PRI (which makes sense), but cannot with SIP trunks. I'm looking for the a way to do this through the SV8100. If nothing else then I would like to send no Caller ID.

Well, the carrier(s) are the ones that decide whether or not you can do this. So if YOU are putting an 800 number in there and are getting rejected, it is a carrier(s) somewhere along the line that are doing this. I know you can send block caller on PRI but have never tried it on SIP. I will do that next time I setup my lab in the office on the SIP trunks.
