I am not sure if this is where I should post this, so if it is in the wrong place, mods please move.
I am a relatively active poster in the 1A2 forum, where I have been describing my adventures in setting up a small KSU for my home. I am getting close to if not completing at least having a working system. The next large project is to have an outbuilding built where I can have my telephone and TTY collection in a safe, heated/AC environment.
After that (I am having a carpender build it for me), I am looking to go on to something bigger and more complicated. I keep thinking about a switch... my own CO if you will. I am not interested in computers, integrated circuits and the like. I am a tube and relay guy, and I am leaning towards a Step by Step switch. The problem is, I do not know much about it even though I have been searching for info for the last several years. I know that this would be a rather long term project, not relatively quick and simple like my little KSU in the house project.
Does anyone here get into such things? What should I start looking for in terms of relays, gear and such? Since I am thinkng of doing this from the ground up (so to speak), I guess the first thing that I will need is the actual frames. Are those simple 23 inch racks? Where would I find such a thing?
Any information or ideas would be very much appreciated, and I look forward to hearing from anyone who would be interested in this.
Joe

And you need to see www.ckts.info. We are connecting our electro-mechanical switches together, all over the world. I have lots of spare WE step equipment. 631 - SHelterisland 9 - 0100

Get to know any old telephone guys (or girls) that are out there. It won't be too long and many of the old timers that grew up with the old switches will be gone. So learn everything you can from them. Get the old stories.

Pick back Time... I resemble that remark. Is a parody of the I resent that remark and used quite often on the forum and else wheres in USA. In this case I believe Arthur's use was correct as he does resemble the remark and I doubt that he resents it. Thats it for todays English/Canadian lessons. ![[Linked Image from fc02.deviantart.net]](https://fc02.deviantart.net/fs7/i/2005/243/4/f/_Teacher__by_Jack_ina_box.gif)
