Over the years I have had partner & lucent, comdial dsu & dxp, Vodavi stx & xts training, selling, installing and service these systems. As we all know these good key systems are history or soon to be. My customers have depended on me to sell them something that I felt good about, which I have. Now I ask myself which way do I good to consciousely support these customers. In Lancaster co Pa, in any economy money is apent wisely. Yes I know my first car (57 chevy) is no longer made, but still liked. Any engouragement or direction, I'll say thanks already.

Avaya IP Office (Partner Edition) with 14XX phones?

Cool thing now is that the max station cap is 100 and you can pull in the the Nortel customers and reuse their existing phones.

If the customer ever wants to go IP based, then your already set

Just MHO.

Gary, I share in your concern. I'm at a loss for an answer, but I'm looking forward to some feedback myself. The usual canned answer of "IPO" is starting to sound like a broken record.

We all love our products when we know them well, but we need answers that cover the full spectrum of manufacturers, not just those reflecting our favorite brand.

My concern is manufacturer support. Many will continue to support embedded phones now, but what happens when they decide that they want their end users to by today's latest and greatest phone model?

Didn't mean to try and shove Avaya IPO down anyone's throat, just giving MHO.

Have you ever looked into Avaya IP Office Ed?

It's not a fit for everyone because it's not cheap, but does work (if installed correctly)!

I'm with Coral Tech - NEC DSX. Rock solid, feature rich, great support, very reasonably priced - i.e., big bang for the buck!

How do I become a NEC dealer? Is anyone here a dealer? I need to migrate away from the stuff I'm installing and maintaining now. Thanks for any guidance.

The DSX is solid. Give Gordon Chamberlain a call in Shelton, MA. You'll get set up real quick and easy.
