Where I work we are running an active directory Domain. I have several PC that I run maintenance on that are on the network but not the domain. I have been accessing them using there IP address. This has worked well. I now have a piece of software that will only work using the computer name. Is there an EASY way to get names to go beyond the domain and find these PC's. I hope this makes sense.

You could add some entries to the hosts file on your PC. This doesn't require any changes to the network or any servers, so it's easy from that perspective.

How about adding the hosts to DNS?
<EDIT> Or, as Clinton (who beat me to the punch)said, a local hosts file should work.
