I was given an executech 0308 and I currently have 2 executech 6414 phones. Phones are testing fine when I do the set test(unplug, press hold,plug-in). LED's are flashing irratically in what looks to be some kind of pattern. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I think you unplug, press mute,plug-in for the test. Most likely the ports are programmed for a 22 line phone you have a 3/8 line phone. Hence the Christmas tree affect. What 308 do you have? anything in front of the 308 or behind it? Is it an all black or black and tan unit?

Yes test-ok is correct you use the mute while plugging it in to test. What you are seeing is ports programmed for a different style phone. Do you have a LCD with the system you were given, or a 22 button set?

All I have is 2 22 button phones. I got them at a yard sale for $1.50 each. Is there a way to reset the system or set the system up for different phones. Is their another way to get into the programming besides the phones. Thanks

If you have 6414,s then you don't have a 22 button set, they are considered as a 8 line telephone because they don't have lights with the top buttons. You program from station 10, you need to get a 6600 or 6620 to program the system.

Capitol, Are you by chance also mattgray over on Tek-Tips? If so I'll just help you here instead of both boards.

DTMF, mattgray is me on tek-tips. I'll get a 6600 or a 6620. Will my 6414's work once I reprogram the ports?

Yes, once you get a phone to program and use on port 10 you will be able to fire up the rest of them.
