I have a school that has a DXP plus and an older Corporate Office on 8 analog ports. The software card went bad and I ordered a new one from King Tech. The old one had rev 13B or 13C, I can't remember. The new one was 15C. Prior to the card going bad I was able to directly transfer calls into mail boxes for teachers that did not actually have phones associated with them using a button programmed with XVM1. Now, I can't transfer into any mail box that does not actually have a station programmed in the system. Do I need to go back to 13x or is there a fix? Voice mail software is pretty old also, an 8.1 I think.

Mark are the virtual mail boxes transfer set to "No Transfer" ?? If they are not then the transfer is trying to go to a station that does not exist on the switch.

15C is a very stable rev with no problems. You should not need to go back but I think you have a DXP. The plus uses flash. Punch-down is right on the money with your problem.

Yep, If its not in the switch it will not bring in the digits on transfer. Just go in and pick a slot not being used in the system. add a card and put the mailbox as stations on that card. this will make them valid in the system and can then transfer right to the mailbox. Another way I have seen it work is if you hit vmail xfer dial the mailbox number and then dial a digit 2, for some reason this would bring in the information. But I seem to remember this had something to do with being an ACD agent also. But give it a try. ------------------ WWW.THEBESTPHONESUPPORT.COM WWW.ABUGSEYEVIEW.COM

It worked fine before the card wen bad. We tested it on our system (FXII) with 17C by putting in a card, loading it up with extensions and then removing the fake card from the slot. The stations stayed in place and all was well. This did not work on the DXP Plus. When we removed the card, the extensions disapeared. The station followed by 2 used to work on the 13C but it does not work now. We have a hundred or so virtual extensions in the voice mail. All worked fine before the card went bad.

Do you have serial integration set up on the Voice Mail?
There was a big problem with serial integration beginning with 15 series software, there was a line in the Comdial.lnk file that had to be modified. There was a Tech tip on this,I will see if I can find it or maybe one of the other guys can post it.

There seemed to have been some change in the system after a certain software rev, where it would not allow you to do a transfer to VM to extensions that didn't exist in the system. I've always gotten around this with either virtual extensions (17A?) or programming in a IST board and using it for virtual extensions. Tech support once told me that adding the 2 after the extension would work. I can't remember if it did or not. Since users wanted to treat "guest" mailboxes just like others, the virtual extension work-around was a better solution because VM transfers operated the same regardless of whether they were real extensions or not. ------------------ | Signal Communication Systems - Fresno, CA | | Telephone Systems, Voicemail Syste... & Data Cabling - Central Valley, CA [This message has been edited by 5years&counting (edited April 03, 2005).]

There has never been an instance where any software revision would transfer to an extension that didn't exist. Zero still equals zero. If the extension doesn't exist then how would the switch know to send it to VM ??

Prior to the memory crash, we could press XVM button, dial an extension followed by 2 and it would work. Now it doesn't. Rev13x was the original software.
